As of 5PM GMT today (Thursday 6 December 2018), Lightyear is accepting registrations in the Republic of Ireland and the United States of America (Alpha testing).
Fast on the heels of our UK launch last month, this marks another huge milestone for the Lightyear team and our partners and is further evidence of our commitment to deliver the best Accounts Payable solution to small and medium businesses across all English speaking markets by mid 2019.
Why the USA and ROI
The Republic of Ireland makes a lot of sense for us as our office is based in Northern Ireland (NI) and it allows us to offer in-person support and training to businesses who have a presence in both the UK and ROI markets. We will look to test other European markets in the new year with a view to further expanding our coverage.
With regards to the US, Chris Gregg (CEO), explains, “The US market lags behind Australia and the UK in terms of business cloud adoption, however, this is set to change with Fintech industries already experiencing early disruption by new agile startup’s and technologies. There are millions of businesses that will benefit from Lightyear’s AP automation platform across the United States and we are excited to get into that market. We see this as a key market for our future plans. Our US customers will be supported from our Head Office in Northern Ireland initially as we can offer great business time zone coverage, but we will look to build a team on the ground in due course”
Our Launch partners
Lightyear will continue to build on it’s strong partnerships with the world's leading Accounting software providers - Netsuite, QuickBooks Online & Xero - which are all available via API integration in Ireland and the United States.
How has this been possible?
September 2018 - launch in Australian and New Zealand markets
November 2018 - launch in the UK market
December 2018 - launch of the Alpha test for USA and full launch in ROI market.
In only 10 weeks since our launch in Australia, we have added 3 new markets and over 15 new core features to the Lightyear application and implemented a range of system enhancements to increase speed and improve usability.
This is an amazing achievement from our entire team and testament to the velocity which can be achieved with a laser focused, customer informed, roadmap. Our development team operates best in class agile methodology and lean development allowing us to release product improvements at rapid pace, take feedback, iterate, and go again. Many thanks to our customers and partners who have supported us in reaching this point.
According to Chris, ''The next 3 months for us is all about building out new features and capabilities within the product and fine tuning some of our rough edges. We have listened to hundreds of customer verbatims and feedback requests and will now look to deliver even more value into product''
''From a sales and marketing perspective, the focus for us is awareness. We want to have as many conversations as humanly possible, we have a great Application that saves businesses a ton of time and money and when we get the chance to engage with business owners and finance personnel, more often than not we proceed to implement the product. Traction in Australia is already snowballing and the UK is catching up quickly. We also expect to begin Alpha Testing for other markets including South Africa next year. ''
