Introducing our Splitting Widget & Approvals Reminders and announcing our Sage Business Cloud partnership.

With Christmas fast approaching, Lightyear comes bearing gifts with this latest release:

  • Task Enhancements - Bringing the workflow into Tasks for more visibility and control
  • Task Dashboard & Bulk Approval Task Reminders - Admin overview in Dashboards and easily trigger reminders for outstanding tasks
  • Splitting Widget - This allows you to easily split your lines/entire bill to split coding based on % or $
  • Edit Suppliers from Panel 2 - Update your Supplier details/rules while staying on your working document
  • Bulk Supplier Export - Allows you to easily download your Supplier data from Lightyear via csv
  • PO Prefixes - Create custom prefixes and set your starting number for POs
  • New Users - An enhanced set up experience making it easier to get started
  • New Sage Business Cloud Integration

Task Enhancements

Task Requests just got another revamp! We now have the ability to reassign tasks to another user if you know who the task should be assigned to. You can also put documents 'On Hold' as a pending status and it will give everyone instant visibility that its been acknowledged. You'll also see the familiar options from the Approvals tab brought into the Task view, allowing approvers to Dispute and Email Suppliers for direct follow up! This mode of approval is becoming a fast favourite to keep processes simple, clean and automated.

Bulk Approval Task Reminders

Reminding users to action their outstanding tasks has just become a simple click. Click to send a reminder to a specific user, or to all users assigned a task, via the Account Dashboard. The users will receive an email reminding them of the number of outstanding tasks in their name and direct them to log in to Lightyear to action these. Now, sit back and grab a cuppa while the approvals start rolling in.

Splitting Widget

A long awaited feature, and it's finally here! If you've ever needed to split a line or a bill, say goodbye to calculating these manually. You can now split with ease based on either percentage or dollar value with our sophisticated splitting widget. This allows you to split your coding accordingly so you can attribute a percentage or amount to different GL codes or categories to get more accurate reporting insights.

Edit Suppliers in Panel 2

No more jumping in and out between Bills/POs and Suppliers. Look for the little green pencil in Panel 2. A new pop-up modal has been introduced into Panel 2 enabling you to edit your Supplier settings without moving away from the screen. This means you can continue working on your documents without interrupting your flow and set default rules on GLs, Departments, Approvers, Keyword Rules, etc. Think of the time saved jumping back and forth!

Bulk Supplier Export

Following our recent release of Bulk Supplier Uploads, we've heard a lot of requests for Bulk Supplier Exports via csv. This makes set-up easier by exporting all your Supplier information into a single csv, allowing you to fill in the blanks for any missing information. Making it easier for you  to fill in the blanks for any missing information, existing Suppliers (or create new Suppliers while you're at it!), and then upload it back into Lightyear to your heart's content. 

PO Prefixes

Need custom prefixes? Well, now you can create multiple PO prefixes. This allows you to select your desired prefix for when you create a new PO. You can use these to correspond with different sectors of your business e.g. LY-XXX vs PO-XXX. Or, if you've switched over from a different purchasing system, you can seamlessly transition to Lightyear continuing the same numbering convention by also defining your starting point. e.g. Select LY-10000 and your next PO raised will be LY-10000.

Note: you can only define your starting number once, but you can create as many prefixes as you like.
